Responsibilities
 

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and manage a team of Industrial Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster their professional growth and development.

• Establish clear objectives and performance metrics for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Design & Optimization

• Oversee the development and enhancement of physical operational flows and automation strategies across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in sorting and loading processes.

• Collaborate with facility and operations teams throughout the justification, design, implementation, testing, and go-live phases of new, expanded, and relocated stations.

​Standards Development & Data-Driven Insights

• Drive the establishment and refinement of operating standards for core activities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the engineering team.

• Analyze throughput, operational costs, and quality metrics, providing strategic recommendations to enhance performance and operational effectiveness.

Strategic Input & Field Engagement

• Serve as a primary interface with operations and procurement teams in the analysis, justification, and selection of diverse material handling equipment.

• Collaborate with automation providers and industry partners to explore innovative solutions that align with short, medium, and long-term operational needs.

• Actively participate in the RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes related to automation and material handling equipment, providing technical insights and recommendations.

• Regularly visit delivery stations and sortation hubs to gain firsthand understanding of operations and support the implementation of key initiatives.

• Act as a consultant for operations management teams, offering expertise and strategic guidance on engineering-related matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a graduate degree in engineering, project management, or operations management is a plus.

• 10 years of experience in engineering or operational excellence roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

• Experience in an automated warehouse or HUB environment is preferred.

• Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with simulation software is a plus.

• Advanced skills in Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Job Requirements

• Willingness to travel to various stations across Canada.

• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.

• Bilingual in French and English, with a strong command of both languages for effective pan-Canadian communication.

• Based in Montreal, Canada.
