**Job Summary
**
As the Lead, Systems Engineer (EO Systems Architect), this position is responsible for the technical integrity, quality and on-time delivery of the assigned products within our portfolio. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing, testing and deploying the next generation of architecture and technology for our products. They will develop technical proposals and technology roadmaps and will also provide technical leadership in systems requirements generation, hardware selection trade studies, design implementation in system architecture development, system partitioning, integration and testing of the overall system, and assessing unit or system performance. This position is responsible for the planning, preparation and execution of all design related gate reviews with the support of project engineering and functional groups.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
**
Lead technical proposals, including decomposition of customer requirement into unit or system architecture / design, technical writing, technical risk management and cost estimating.
Review, analyze and perform system radiometrics.
Develop product architecture and define system behavior, requirement and parametrics. Using a range of methods and tools, capture stakeholder and system requirements, facilitate discussion and understanding of system usage, and enhance a culture of model-based designs.
Collaborate with other engineers in the development of work products, including System specifications, logically derived and linked requirement, interface definitions, system diagrams, system analyses, trade studies and detailed designs.
Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites and other IMS locations as needed.

Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with the environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures.

**REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
**
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong project management skills and willingness to take on project ownership and accountability.
Ability to work in fast paced, small team environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within and outside of the organization with customers, vendors and leadership with minimal oversight.
Ability to effectively communicate and transfer system architecture and design knowledge with other disciplines including software and hardware engineering, manufacturing, program management, suppliers and customers.
Able to provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to junior engineers supporting engineering analysis, architecture, trade studies and continuous improvement.
Action and result oriented.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
**EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
**
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years or Graduate Degree and minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience
8 years of Systems Engineering experience in a DoD environment including systems architecture, specification, design, implementation, simulation, test, verification, validation and debugging of military grade laser range finders.
8 years’ experience working with electro-optical systems or subsystems.
Prior systems engineering experience on at least two programs with at least one program being a medium scale complex system or subsystem (>5 Systems Engineers or >$15M)
