About This Position
The Caribbean Countries Department (CCB) and the Research Department (RES) are currently looking for a Caribbean Country Department Research Consultant to manage the behavioral economics hub at CCB, which combines training, dissemination, and implementation of behavioral interventions in the field.
The IDB Behavioral Economics Group generates new ideas to enrich the knowledge base that supports the policy agenda of the Bank and its member countries for achieving sustainable and equitable development in the region. The group carries out activities that serve as inputs to Bank departments, governments, the academic community, and public opinion in the region.

What you’ll do
Some Of The Activities Expected Include
- Participation in the design and implementation of behavioral interventions.
- Consulting and advising government officials and IDB specialists.
- Evaluation of research proposals and knowledge products.
- Coordination of trainings and other activities.
- Production of working papers, policy briefs, and other knowledge products. The specific outputs and activities will be agreed upon by the fellow and the selection committee prior to the start of the program.
- Education: Master’s in economics. Ph.D. strongly preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in Behavioral economics or a related field.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required.

Requirements
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
- International consultant Full-Time, 12 months.
