Inter-Lakes Community Action invites you to bring your culinary skills and passion for nutrition to our team in Watertown, South Dakota, as a Head Cook for our Nutrition Program. This role is crucial in providing nutritious, delicious meals to the children and elderly participants we proudly serve. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaboratively plan menus with the Administrative Site manager, ensuring meals are both appetizing and nutritionally rich
• Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with set menus and nutritional standards, using approved recipes
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, toasters, knives, stoves, and microwaves
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including documenting food temperatures and monitoring portion sizes
• Record daily meal services and consumption to comply with State and Federal agency requirements, aligning with the Child and Adult Care Food Program or Title IIIC Senior Meals Program standards
• Manage food supply ordering and inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation
• Uphold high standards of kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
• Supervise and coordinate volunteers in food preparation, cleaning, and dishwashing
• Utilize tools like calculators and computers for administrative tasks, including invoice checking and submission
• Adhere to safety practices and maintain confidentiality of client information
• Participate in relevant meetings, training sessions, and seminars as required

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• At least one year of experience in quantity meal preparation and kitchen sanitation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong record-keeping and time management skills
• Experience working with pre-school age children or elderly adults is advantageous
