What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Resident advisor position at Intercommunity Action I?
Starting Pay Range: $20/hr
PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Lead Resident Advisor guides, assists and instructs residents in activities for independent functioning and work open shifts when needed. Responsibilities will be performed in accordance with Interact’ s CHS policies and procedures.
PURPOSE:
The schedule will include two 7am – 3pm shifts, two 3pm – 11 pm shifts, and one Saturday or Sunday shift each week.
FUNCTIONS:
- The Lead Resident Advisor’s responsibilities are to prepare residents for independent living under the direction of the Program Manager.
- The Lead Resident Advisor will assist, instruct, and monitor residents in all activities for independent functioning, including situations relating to their health, welfare, and safety, under the guidance of the Program Manager and in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team.
- The Lead Resident Advisor will assist the Program Manager with:
- Shopping
- Ensuring the documentation is being completed daily.
- Diets are being followed as prescribed.
- Assist residents to maintain appropriate family contacts and speak with families when needed.
- Taking individuals on doctors’ appointments as needed.
- Calling the pharmacy for medication refills as needed.
- Going on community outings with residents.
- Incorporate being part of the team in the development of Individual Service Plans (ISP), and the implementation of goals.
- Ensure that team members are informed of issues and concerns when necessary.
- Interacts with clients and other staff in a positive, constructive and professional manner.
- The Lead Resident Advisor will fill in shifts as needed in any of the homes in the CHS program.
- Any other job duties that are assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma and 3 -year experience preferred working with individuals with IDD.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Follow agency policy with respect to the maintenance of records.
- Participate in required trainings and any other trainings that are assigned.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license from the state of residence with a minimum of one (1) year driving experience. Must have the ability to drive a car or van as needed.
- Adheres to safe work practices.
- Must function in full compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, federal state and local laws and Interact’ s Code of Conduct.
- Must participate in Interact’ s Compliance Program including reporting suspected violations of the compliance program or applicable laws or regulations to supervisor/manager/director or the Compliance Officer.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate with and relate to individuals with Intellectual disabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment and display individual initiative, creativity, good judgment and effective operational skills.
- Certification in Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, Fire Safety Training within the first six months of employment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of sixty (60) pounds and be able to perform transfer after training.
- Clearance in accordance with PA Acts 33 & 80.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory physical examination statement prior to date of hire and every two years thereafter.
