Part Time Maintenance Technician II

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients and staff members in a manner that is respectful and empowering

• Attend all mandatory staff meetings, program meetings, and trainings
• Present a professional demeanor to the community through appearance, communication, and presentation

Essential Functions

• Provide minor repairs to plumbing, heating, electrical and carpentry for all IAC owned or operated property
• Review work and provide training for Maintenance Tech I when assigned to project
• Maintain a schedule of required maintenance and arrange as needed in coordination with the Maintenance Coordinator
• Rehabilitate units in building as needed and prepare them for new tenants
• Assist with quarterly maintenance and safety inspections
• Maintain exterior around the IAC Housing Properties including trash pick-up, lawn mowing, hedge clipping, and tree trimming
• Maintain garage/work areas in a clean working order
• Provide expediting services
• Assist in the disposal of donations and trash as needed
• Coordinate and /or provide snow removal off of sidewalks and handicap ramps for all IAC buildings following budgetary constraints
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a maintenance position
• Experience with residential building operations
• Certification in a maintenance field
• Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles
• Commitment to agency’s mission and goals
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License
• Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a maintenance and/or construction position
• 2 years experience with property management or residential and/or shelter operations
• Multiple certifications in a maintenance/construction field and/or heavy equipment operation

Supervision: Directly responsible to the Maintenance Coordinator

Hours: Part-Time Not to exceed 31 hours per week

Salary: Range 24; $22.55 - $25.37 DOE

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.55 - $25.37 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
