The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and technical expertise in manufacturing, with a relentless drive to enforce processes, reduce inefficiencies, and increase throughput without compromising quality. This role plays a critical part in aligning production departments with company goals for output, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Process Enforcement and Improvement
- Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
- Conduct daily 5S walks to observe operations, reinforce process discipline and layout organization.
- Process Leadership
- Direct and oversee daily activities in Components, Machining, and Assembly to ensure workflow continuity.
- Monitor and manage production KPI’s to meet daily targets.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs): units per hour, scrap rates, rework rates, on-time completion.
- Team and Personnel Management
- Manage labor allocation based on daily demand and cross-training needs
- Promote a culture of discipline, ownership, and continuous improvement among all team members.
- Quality and Safety
- Enforce in-process quality checks and hold departments accountable for first-pass yield.
- Collaborate with QA and Maintenance team to reduce rework and prevent equipment-related delays.
- Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring proper PPE use, machine guarding, and safe behavior.
- Reporting and Communication
- Deliver accurate, real-time updates to the General Manager on production progress and issues.
- Lead daily production meetings with clear communication on goals, results, and expectations.
- 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in wood product manufacturing.
- Proven track record in enforcing processes and driving operational improvements.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, production metrics, and SOP development.
- Hands-on familiarity with woodworking equipment and door manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Daily machine output per hour
