Ideal Candidate: Looking for a candidate that has bottom-up estimating experience in Heavy Civil or Commercial environment. The projects we bid are min of $100 million and go up from there. They are not looking for someone that gathers quotes from other contractors and puts them together for a bid but they want someone with experience building the bid from the very start and building up to finish. The software that we use is Bid2Win and we would like experience with that. Looking for someone that has done bidding for Highway bridges, highway paving, airports and LARGE multi-level commercial buildings with post tension cabling, water tanks and building water treatment facilities.

Overview
- Responsible for the preparation of estimates primarily for commercial parking structures and large commercial concrete footings and foundations. Other estimates could include commercial buildings (apartment complex, office buildings, and vertical builds)
Responsibilities
- Review proposal specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical, data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, and equipment costs and applying to complete scope of work.
- Review/research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
- Participate in developing bid package estimate documents.
- Other tasks, as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent years of relevant experience
- 8 years of commercial/Industrial estimating experience with building wastewater treatment facilities, large water tanks and Multi level parking structures.
- 8 years of reading (in English) and analyzing and responding to engineering drawings, technical plans, purchase orders, and contracts.
- 8 years of responding to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- 8 years of bottom up estimating using Bid2Win estimating software
- Good working knowledge of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and calculate mathematical extensions. Also, good knowledge of geometric formulas and equations required to calculate area, volume, etc. in performing take-offs.
- General understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
- HIGHLY DESIRED: Estimating for Water Tanks and multi-level buildings with post tension cabling
