What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supplier Quality Engineer position at International Automotive Components?
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Supplier Quality Engineer at our Arlington, TX facility.
Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for confirming the process standards are being followed in the day-to-day, related to all supplier requirements (PPAP, Supplier Audits, Quality Concerns, Quality Cost, Sorting activities, Critical Supplier follow-up).
Specific Job Duties:
- To have constant and immediate communication with external suppliers.
- To Participate and Lead problem-solving analysis, as well as coordinate and validate supplier 8D.
- To coordinate Incoming Audits and define the Audit Schedule and Requirements.
- To have records of all quality issues caused by the suppliers and make sure the communication flows at all levels when an important issue happens.
- To provide constant training to quality technicians on quality aspects described on the control plan related to incoming material.
- To make sure that the control plan is being followed and updated and coordinate the validation of controls based on a supplier issues.
- To make sure all containment activities are effective and protects the internal and external customer, making sure that the containment is maintained until the supplier has demonstrated that the actions are really solving the problems.
- To propose at least 2 improvements per year and have at least 1 implemented (Cost, Quality, Safety)
- To understand and propose actions to maintain the Quality Indicators within targets.
- To coordinate PPAP of Supplier and approve PSW for engineering changes.
- To work together with Engineering and logistics and do the quality aspects of an Engineering change (product or process)
- To have control over the SC agreed with the supplier, make sure that the capability of the process meets the requirements and verify that they keep capability at least in a yearly validation.
Experience Requirements:
- Computer skills, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Minitab
Good management of Data, SPC, Quality tools, PPAP, Control Plan, PFMEA, 8D
Good communication skills
PPE Requirements
·This position requires the use of eye protection and hearing protection and any PPE specific to the task being performed.
Physical Demands
· Must be able to stand on feet and/or sit 8-12 hours a day and lift to 40lbs on an occasional basis and 15 lbs regularly. Must be able to perform overhead work and work below the waist.
