Job Description
A Paramedic provides advanced emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings, responding to 911 calls and other emergency situations. As a highly trained medical professional, the paramedic is responsible for delivering advanced life support (ALS) interventions, stabilizing patients, and ensuring safe transport to medical facilities. Paramedics work in collaboration with other emergency medical personnel, utilizing specialized equipment to deliver critical care. This role demands strong decision-making, excellent communication, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide advanced medical care at the scene.
- Assess and diagnose patient conditions, performing ALS procedures such as advanced airway management, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring.
- Initiate life-saving interventions such as intubation, defibrillation, and IV therapy.
- Administer medications as per local protocols, standing orders, or in consultation with a medical supervisor.
- Safely transport patients to hospitals or other healthcare facilities while continuing to provide care en route.
- Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment, including defibrillators, ventilators, and heart monitors.
- Communicate critical patient information to receiving medical staff, ensuring continuity of care.
- Document patient care reports accurately, detailing medical interventions, patient history, and any relevant information.
- Collaborate with EMTs, first responders, and hospital personnel to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Stay current on medical protocols, technology, and practices through continuing education and re-certification.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Current Paramedic certification and licensure as per state and local regulations.
- Must be licensed in the state of Louisiana.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (required).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of emergency medical procedures, ALS protocols, and medical equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under high-pressure situations.
- Physical ability to lift and transport patients.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation| Min: $65,000 Max: $85,000
This project is a rapid response assignment due to the recent severe weather impacting the coast of Louisiana.
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
