Job Description
Interpath Laboratory is seeking a Phlebotomy Processing Supervisor responsible for all elements of a moderately complex clinical laboratory from point of patient reception, specimen collection, processing, and reporting for all entities owned or affiliated with Interpath Laboratory, Inc. within area. This is a working supervisor position, so phlebotomy experience is a must. Internal candidates who have demonstrated leadership potential will be given preference.This position requires the leader to work on-site primarily at the Spokane patient service center. Travel is required between various sites in the Northeast WA & Northern ID areas. Travel could increase based upon new business start-ups in the region.
General Areas of Responsibility
- Responsible for all operational activities in assigned territory, including patient reception, specimen processing, and specimen collection.
- Serves as an ambassador / liaison for Interpath Laboratory; instilling Interpath's culture of appreciation and quality in the team.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with all corporate policies, protocols and procedures at site.
- Directs and supervises team, with support from the Regional Manager.
- Ensures efficient laboratory and patient service center operations by developing work schedules, resolving operational problems; and implementing new procedures.
- Provides quality services by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
- Actively evaluates and monitors the productivity and efficiency of all team to ensure efficiently run operations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent, experience in and knowledge of phlebotomy and or specimen processing.
- Certification: Washington Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy
- Experience: Strong communication skills; Accurate and detail oriented; Excellent organizational skills; Experience with people management; Ability to manage workload and delegate as needed; Recent management or supervision experience strongly preferred.
- Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, use of multiple data bases, coordination of people, effective meeting facilitator, effective written and oral communications.

General Physical Requirements
- Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
- High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
- Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
- Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.
OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
