The Underwriter Assistant will support the underwriting team by preparing new submissions, ordering necessary credit documents, completing accurate data entry, and managing clerical tasks to ensure an efficient underwriting process. This role is critical in facilitating seamless workflow and minimizing delays. The ideal candidate will possess attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Review incoming loan files to ensure completeness and readiness for underwriting.
- Validate key documents such as credit applications, income verification, asset statements, and property valuations.
- Coordinate and order required credit-related documents, including credit reports, title work, appraisal orders, income verifications, and other necessary data.
- Accurately input loan and borrower information into underwriting systems and ensure data integrity throughout the process.
- Assist with clearing basic conditions as guided by the underwriting team and ensure all follow-up items are collected and submitted promptly.
- Manage file organization, upload documents to systems, and maintain accurate records for the underwriting team.
- Communicate effectively with Underwriters, Broker Coordinators, and Brokers to resolve issues or address questions related to loan submissions.
