Iowa Digestive Disease Center and Iowa Endoscopy Center are proud to serve the community and surrounding area with regard to digestive health needs. Our endoscopy center is one of only three centers in Iowa recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Education Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office or front desk setting required
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in customer service required
Job Summary
We are looking for a personable, organized, and professional Front Desk Receptionist to serve as a key member of our office team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping to create a positive, welcoming experience from the moment they arrive. You’ll be responsible for patient check-ins, answering phones, and supporting the team with basic administrative tasks. Your ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure is essential to the smooth operation of our front office and overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a smooth start to their visit
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and reception area throughout the day
- Answer and route phone calls, taking accurate messages and providing helpful information as needed
- Assist with appointment scheduling when needed, coordinating with clinical staff to support office flow
- Verify and update patient information during check-in to ensure accuracy in records
- Provide general information to patients and visitors about office policies, procedures, and directions
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions, following HIPAA and office guidelines
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and able to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using basic office technology (phones, printers, scanners, etc.)
- Familiarity with electronic scheduling or medical record systems is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure
- Dependable and punctual, with a strong sense of professionalism
- Must maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies
Hours
- Monday- Friday 7am -3:30pm
