Our client, a law firm with an excellent reputation for quality, is looking for a patent attorney (partner track) with a very strong technical background in organic chemistry.  This practice has an abundance of high quality work from an impressive and diverse list of clients.

 

Primarily, this opportunity will relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents, opinions (patentability, infringement, freedom to operate), and patent portfolio strategy.  There will also be the opportunity to work on due diligence, IP agreements, reexaminations, reissues, due diligence, and PTAB issues, depending on your interests and capabilities.

 

Here, you will have very substantive client engagement, thus strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

 

Patent Attorney Requirements:
   *  Minimum M.S. in chemistry or chemical engineering, with a preference for a Ph.D.
   *  JD, state bar, USPTO registration
   *  At least 2 years of full time claim drafting experience in chemicals and life sciences
