Job Description
SDC is seeking a full-time Journeyman Software Engineer. Successful candidate must have at least Department of Defense interim secret clearance for our Dahlgren, VA contract for Software Development (SWD).
Description of Tasking:
NSWCDD (Dahlgren) Position Journeyman Software Engineer
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, and 4 years of software development experience; or
A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering,
Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, and 2 years of software development experience; or
A Ph. D’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study:
Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
Required Specialized Experience (not required with a Ph.D. degree):
Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing software design, code, and testing.
Required
- The candidate must have an active Interim Secret clearance.
- Required Specialized Experience (not required with a Ph.D. degree): Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing software design, code, and testing.
Skills required:
- Software Development Support requires the ability to:
- Program in Python, MATLAB and C
- Demonstrate familiarity with C/C
- Use GIT and YouTrack
- Adapt to NSWCDD coding standards
- Support technical rigor standards
- Lead coding efforts
