Statesville Nutrition Site Manager
Position Overview: The Nutrition Site Manager is responsible for serving meals and fostering wellness through engaging activities for senior participants at our Mooresville meal site. This role requires a positive, organized individual dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for older adults.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Site Management:
- Prepare and maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility for daily meal service.
- Set up dining and activity areas daily for participants.
- Clean and sanitize the facility post-service, including sweeping, mopping, trash disposal, dishwashing, and restroom sanitation.
- Order and manage supplies necessary for efficient site operations.
Meal Service:
- Receive, handle, and serve meals provided by the caterer.
- Ensure food safety standards by checking and documenting food temperatures upon receipt and during service.
- Oversee meal distribution to congregate participants.
- Prepare and pack meals for homebound participants, coordinating deliveries with volunteers.
Participant Interaction:
- Engage participants in wellness and recreational activities.
- Maintain an inviting atmosphere to promote social interaction and community.
- Respond to and effectively manage any participant concerns or crises in a calm and professional manner.
Administrative Duties:
- Keep accurate daily attendance and participant records.
- Maintain updated client information sheets.
- Compile monthly meal service reports, working proactively to minimize food waste.
- Encourage and facilitate participant cost-sharing contributions.
Volunteer Coordination:
- Train, supervise, and support volunteers assisting with meal service and activities.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure volunteers feel valued and supported.
Qualifications:
- Ability to positively interact and communicate effectively with older adults, individually and in group settings.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental toward diverse client interests and attitudes.
- Capable of independently completing tasks and required reporting with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to manage volunteers and maintain a cooperative team environment.
- Comfortable recognizing and calmly managing challenging or crisis situations.
