- You will work hands-on in the operation of industrial-grade CNC machining equipment, programming parts using templated CAM programs, communicating with customers, and ensuring that we deliver on-time.
- As CNC machining is a critical part of our prototyping services, we’re looking for people with a background in digital design coupled with an interest in making things, and we’re willing to train the right person in the specifics of the job.
- Efficiently program parts using templated CAM programs in Fusion 360
- Load and unload materials, check machine status, and launch jobs at regular intervals to ensure delivery commitments are made.
- Remove finished parts from machines, clean and post-process as required, being careful to protect or highlight key features.
- Make updates in task management platform to keep requesters apprised of job status.
- Using existing SOPs, maintain equipment and ensure all tools and materials needed are on hand to ensure continuous production.
- Experience with digital design tools (2D or 3D) such as Fusion 360 or other CAD/CAM software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, innate ability to perceive what different customers are looking for in their requests, and second-nature comfort tailoring your approach to meet their needs.
- A genuine passion for making things (art, tinkering, crafts, etc…).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, should be clear and concise by default.
- Digital fabrication experience in a prototyping environment, specifically with CNC machining.
- Bachelors or Associates degree.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining equipment, hobby- or commercial-grade.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Mastercam.
