The Isanti Soil and Water Conservation District is looking for a thoughtful, community‑minded professional to join our team as a Natural Resource Program & Marketing Coordinator. What You’ll Do

As the Natural Resource Program & Marketing Coordinator, you will:


  • Develop and Lead youth and adult natural‑resource outreach and education programs across Isanti County and the Rum River and Lower St. Croix Watersheds, creating marketing materials and building relationships that inspire awareness and behavior change. Materials include but are not limited to fact sheets, flyers, success stories, landowner testimonials, presentations, newsletters, and digital content.
  •  Coordinate outreach initiatives with Rum River Watershed outreach staff and share accurate,

science-based information related to local initiatives (Ex. easements, tree sales, watershed projects,

agricultural practices, cover crops, and soil health), in collaboration with technical staff.

  • Support coordination efforts for the Rum River Watershed Comprehensive Watershed Partnership to ensure successful implementation of the watershed plan.
  • Collaborate with federal, state, local, and tribal partners. Build and maintain relationships with established and new partners, including Isanti County departments, partner SWCDs, BWSR, DNR, watershed organizations, nonprofits, tribal partners, businesses, and community stakeholders to support shared conservation goals.


This role blends program development, partnership building, and hands‑on community engagement — perfect for someone who enjoys both people and natural resources.


Candidates should be adept at navigating email records, shared files, and historical documentation to build institutional knowledge, while working independently after initial guidance, and not hesitating to ask questions when needed. Candidates are not expected to start from scratch— documentation and the staff’s support is always available.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in natural resource management, environmental education, or related discipline OR combination of two-year degree and equivalent work.
  • A vehicle and a valid Minnesota Class D Drivers’ License.

 

Other Details:

  • Expect to use communication and design tools such as WordPress, Canva, Facebook, Microsoft Outlook, Constant Contact, and Teams/Zoom (or be willing to build your skillset with these platforms).
  • Bring sufficient familiarity with conservation concepts to effectively support specialist staff, while recognizing that specialist level expertise is not required.

 

Position Details

Location:                   Cambridge, MN

Status:                        Non-exempt, regular Full time, 40 hours per week. 

Schedule:                           Primarily weekdays with occasional nights and weekends.

Salary Range:                   $30.04-42.76/hr

Hiring Salary Range:    $30.04-32.49/hr (DOQ)

Benefits:                            Cash stipend employee may use for insurance purchase, PERA defined benefit retirement pension, paid time off, MN Paid Family and Medical Leave, Hybrid work environment.
