The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation is seeking an Education Manager.

Summary
In this dynamic role, you will support education initiatives that serve clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals. As part of the ISHLT Education team, you’ll help plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences—ranging from the ISHLT Annual Meeting and Pre-Conference Day, to regional programs, hands-on simulation sessions, virtual webinars, and collaborative events with partner organizations.
You’ll work closely with volunteer leaders and staff to ensure that ISHLT education is inclusive, forward-looking, and aligned with the Society’s strategic goals. This position is ideal for someone with strong project management skills, a passion for continuous learning, and a commitment to improving patient care through global knowledge exchange.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Program Development & Strategy
- Support development and delivery of educational programs aligned with ISHLT’s mission and strategy.
- Collaborate with volunteers and staff to design content and evaluate outcomes.
- Manage key relationships with faculty, volunteers, and external partners.
Annual Meeting & Pre-Conference Programming
- Oversee education elements of the ISHLT Annual Meeting, including simulations and special sessions.
- Coordinate the development of Pre-Conference Day sessions, such as Fellows Day and hands-on surgical simulation training.
- Support abstract management and mobile app content as part of the education team.
Virtual & Regional Learning
- Plan and produce webinars in collaboration with ISHLT communities and task forces.
- Help deliver education for regional meetings and partner programs, including location and faculty coordination.
- Develop infrastructure to support innovative and scalable education models.
Grants & Partnerships
- Prepare unrestricted education grant applications.
- Build and sustain relationships with industry and collaborating organizations.
Operations
- Manage education-related vendors and platforms (e.g., Zoom Events, CTI/OASIS).
- Stay up to date on relevant accreditation standards (e.g., ACCME).
- Contribute to departmental strategy and cross-functional projects.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification in education, nonprofit management, or related field a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit education, preferably in a global or health-related setting.
- Experience managing virtual and in-person education programs and supporting volunteer-led efforts.
- Familiarity with webinar platforms, abstract management systems (OASIS/CTI preferred), and learning technologies.
- Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to innovation, inclusion, and service excellence.
- Ability to travel 2-4 times per year.

The Education Manager will be a fully remote or hybrid position, with the option to work from our downtown Chicago office. The role includes 2–4 trips per year.
