Summary And Scope Of The Position

The Sales and Marketing Associate at Tokahe Distribution plays a key role in supporting the sales and marketing teams to ensure successful execution of sales strategies and marketing initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with the marketing team to assist in content creation, event coordination, and supporting sales operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable team player, ready to contribute to both marketing and sales efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Sales Support

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the distribution team in executing strategies to meet sales targets and support overall sales growth.
  • Track and analyze sales data, prepare reports to inform decision-making and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Provide operational support to the sales team by training staff on sales tools, best practices, and workflow optimizations.
  • Travel to customers to take orders and provide product knowledge and product presentations.
  • Manage taking orders with customers and coordinate with the distribution team.
  • Assist in developing sales strategies and budgets.

Marketing Support

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and product promotion.
  • Coordinate the creation of marketing materials, including promotional content, and social media assets.
  • Assist in managing marketing campaigns and contribute to content creation in alignment with overall marketing strategies.
  • Maintain prospect databases in the surrounding areas. This would include businesses, local makers, etc.
  • Manage collaborations with other local businesses in the area and collect content for social team to promote.
  • Content creation and gathering at events, brand pop-ups and assist on-site at dispensary locations to assist the social media team.
  • Maintain inventory count of merchandise and printed materials for outreach events/marketing opportunities.

Event Coordination

  • Plan and participate in pop-up events (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) to promote products, interact with customers, and gather valuable feedback.
  • Manage the logistics of trade shows and community events, including scheduling, staffing, and distributing promotional materials.

Travel Requirements

  • The role involves travel up to 80% to meet with clients, support sales efforts, and attend industry events.
  • Must have a reliable working vehicle that is properly maintained and be able to meet travel requirements.
  • May require overnight travel.
  • Must have clear driving background.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional appearance, attitude, and interpersonal/social skills
  • Must complete the application and Cannabis Commission licensing process in a timely and professional manner.
  • A valid State issued Driver's License
  • A Passport quality photo
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must successfully pass a background check
  • Must successfully pass a drug test for all substances non-cannabis
  • Associate's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 3 years of experience in outside sales, marketing, or a similar role within the cannabis industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with team members, clients, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
  • Self-motivated and a team player, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position based in Minnesota
  • The position involves both office-based and on-site work, including travel for events, making flexibility and adaptability important for success.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, when required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to meet travel requirements.

Physical Demands

  • The individual is required to regularly sit at a computer and enter data for extended periods of time
  • The individual is required to listen and talk to individuals and before groups in the performance of the job
  • The individual is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • The individual is occasionally required to bend, stretch, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to reach with hands and arms
  • The individual is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The position requires some scheduling flexibility
