What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional position at ISO Workforce Alliance?
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team. In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, with a particular focus on students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum. Your contributions will help foster an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages both academic growth and social development for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of instructional activities and lesson plans tailored to meet individual learning needs
- Support students with autism and other special needs by ensuring access to appropriate resources and accommodations
- Lead small group instruction and provide one-on-one academic support, with an emphasis on literacy and developmental milestones
- Promote a positive and respectful classroom environment by managing behavior and modeling appropriate interactions
- Contribute to curriculum planning by offering insights and ideas to enhance student engagement and success
- Track and report student progress to teachers, noting both challenges and achievements
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparation of materials and learning spaces
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including methods aligned with Montessori or other progressive education models
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children in a classroom or educational setting preferred
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and effective support strategies
- Familiarity with Montessori or similar child-centered educational approaches is a plus
- Knowledge of early childhood development and literacy instruction techniques
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also working independently
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for working with students, staff, and families
- Passion for education and a deep commitment to helping all students succeed
