Job duties
  • The ability to take leadership, assure ownership, assure accountability, provide vetting and management of the project endeavors assigned to support the teams with direction and oversight by the Quality Engineering Lead.
  • The ability to work with the team towards a common fast-paced Design, Manufacturing, Assembly, Test and Launch Readiness Operations environments.
  • You will work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products.
  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Support the mission in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
  • Review ispace manufacturing and developmental specifications of each project team’s scopes to identify quality objectives and assure quality specifications of our customers both internal and external maintain positive ispace outcomes.
  • Work with procurement as well as supplier quality engineering to source and assess the best fit suppliers to deliver the necessary materials.
  • Conduct tests, review AS9102 FAIR documents and assessments on incoming products to identify quality issues.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to the teams to assure positive outcomes of all objectives towards the mission.
  • Review engineering and manufacturing specifications to identify materials needed for product desirables and adjust any issues to assure positive outcomes without negative impacts.
  • Provide feedback to ispace departments on betterments for overall positive flows.
  • Developing program Quality Requirements and flowing to supply chain. Managing databases and associated key business metrics.


Qualifications and Requirements
  •  
  • Excellent statistical analysis and quality assurance skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of operations, engineering, and quality.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and quality control standards.
  • Experience with operations, engineering, and quality processes along with their principles.
  • Ability to work with a team along with providing guidance to drive improvements towards process efficiency.
  • Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail oriented, with strong job closure and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills as an individual.
  • Ability to work well within a team driven culture.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in an engineering as well as manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline.
  • 5 years’ experience working in an Aerospace/Defense or related manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing/quality processes and documentation.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret drawings, work instructions, schematics, and specifications.
  • Problem solving experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Experience reviewing and approving manufacturing work instructions.
  • Experience supporting ESD and FOD sensitive manufacturing.
  • Experience with Mate/Demate and Torque operations.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection per AS9102.
  • Experience with IPC-A-600, -610, 620, J-STD-001, -003, IPC-6012, -6013, -6018 (Space) to inspect and assure circuit boards, circuit board assemblies as well as cables and harnesses for acceptability a plus.


Desired Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline and 5 plus years in quality engineering.
  • AS9100 industry experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Structured problem solving and analytical skills including strong technical skills in tools such as DMAIC, DOE, FISHBONE 5-WHY along with others.
  • Experience with NPI (New Product Introductions) and in transitioning products from the R&D phase into high volume manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Prior Aerospace QE experience a plus.
