Porter/Lane Assistant
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Porter/Lane Assistant is responsible for the initial welcome and greeting of clients as they return for service, influences the volume of service business and plays a key role in insuring customer satisfaction.
REPORTS TO: Fixed Operations Director, General Manager, Service Manager
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Napleton Portal training site (when applicable)
- CDK training (when applicable)
- Meet and Greet
- Walk Around
- Manufacturer training (when applicable)
- CDK training (when applicable)
- It is understood that associates will be at work and prepared to assist guest as outlined by the schedule provided.
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner; let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon.
- Work with shuttle staff to assist in coordination of rides for guests/clients.
- Check early bird/night drop first thing every morning.
- Work with Advisers regarding their guests/clients to provide a positive experience.
- Utilize CDK lane write up on iPad for vehicle walk around.
- Take pictures of all vehicles during check in process.
- Accurately document damage to vehicle with photos on iPad.
- Photograph current odometer and oil change sticker.
- Obtain accurate customer & vehicle data during check-in.
- Verify vin
- Verify customer name
- Obtain customer’s signature on iPad after initial walkaround.
- Keep Service Director informed of all problems & potential problems involving repairs, customers & equipment.
- Vacuum all customer vehicles unless instructed not to do so.
- Maintain cleanliness of service drive.
- Retrieve customer vehicles and pull them onto the service drive for redelivery.
- Work with all staff members to ensure that vehicles are returned to customers in better condition than initially dropped off.
Other Duties
- Required to participate in any dealer promotion or program when needed.
- Attend any and all schooling requested by MANAGEMENT.
- Attend any and all meetings requested by MANAGEMENT.
Working Effectively With Others
- Communicate effectively with other staff members within the department and dealership to ensure the overall guest/client experience is above their expectations.
- All employees will ensure a positive overall dealership experience for the client by working effectively with members of staff that may or may not be in their immediate department. (i.e. the employee may be asked to perform a task that may be outside their normal daily duties in an attempt to provide the guest/client with an exemplary experience).
