SUMMARY:
Italpresse USA provides comprehensive service on a wide range of hydraulic presses and automated lines for lamination of wood based and composite materials. Italpresse USA offers complete line management while maintaining high customer satisfaction, timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
Basic equipment below but not Limited to:
- Automated lamination lines
- Thermofoil (Membrane Press) lines
- Stand-alone hot and cold hydraulic presses
- Manual and feed through cased clamps
Training will be provided at Job Sites with Technical Service Manager and/or training will be provided as needed in Punta Gorda, Florida Headquarters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, commission, and maintain/repair Italpresse products at user’s site. Perform modifications or retrofits as needed.
- Maintain complete and detailed knowledge of assigned products and applications.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and calibrate products via telephone or at user’s site. Handle a wide variety of problems, issues, and inquiries to affect the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain good relationships with customers and customer employees, resolve equipment problems and recommend corrective action and troubleshooting approaches.
- Maintain accurate records and issue complete and timely reports on equipment operations, work performed, problems encountered and customer feedback.
- Accumulate histories of equipment performance, commercial relationships, and commercial opportunities.
- Knowledge of parts that customer should have in inventory - Recommend and sell parts.
- Maintain direct contact with Technical Service Manager, Customer Support Team and US Branch GM to ensure the absolute highest customer satisfaction possible.
- Understand the processes with which Italpresse equipment is used and help customers tune process values to their application. Assist customers with potential optimization of their machine operations, and work with clients on application improvements.
- Setup and Assist with Trade Shows as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
NO SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree or better from technical college/university in associated field (mechatronics, electronics/electrical or mechanical engineering) preferred.
Some experience in control system / electronical / mechanical trouble-shooting preferred.
A related technical degree with a minimum of one year of experience or five years of experience maintaining industrial equipment. Five years of experience maintaining industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and passport.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for frequent interface with customers and management & technical personnel in the U.S. and Italy; to build “partnership” relationships with equipment operators and customer’s technical personnel to ensure the most efficient and effective problem-solving and training.
Extensive knowledge on how to use a multimeter to diagnose electrical issues.
Ability to use deductive reasoning and observation methods to diagnose technical issues with little or no guidance from others.
Decision-making and problem-solving responsibilities require the exercise of judgment, discretion, tact, and the maintenance of specific technical knowledge of the equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to communicate and document issues discovered with the rest of the service team (Technical Service Manager) and with the factory in Italy.
Ability to travel extensively when needed (estimated average 70% travel) to support customer needs.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Most work is performed at individual customer sites. Work at the office when not traveling – phone support and part management. (Would consider remote office depending on location)
The incumbent must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
This position reports to the Technical Service Manager

Pay: $60,000/yr. - $80,000/yr. DOE
