Position Title: Logistics Journeyman
Location: Lexington Park, MD
Overview:
This position supports tasking in PMA-265, NAVAIR Head Quarters in Patuxent River, MD. The successful candidate will support the FMS F/A-18 customer and shall provide technical and analytical support services for integration and sustainment planning to the USN FMS IPT for the F/A-18 air vehicle, subsystems, armament, engine, spares, and support equipment efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to Senior Logistics Manager and correspondingly to the Program Office APML/Deputies and Logistics Element Manager (LEMS) across the full spectrum of ILS elements. Support SMEs for respective organizations, including IMRL, SE, P&P, Tech Data, etc.
- Analyzing USN FMS IPT pre-case requirements for prospective programs. Recommending life cycle planning alternatives and courses of action that satisfy defined program objectives.
- Provide recommendations for the development of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) Management Plans as well as providing recommendations for the review and development of Maintenance Plans/Logistics Support Analysis (MP/LSA) records, maintenance tasks and Level of Repair (LOR) Analysis recommendations. Collaborate with USN PMs, contractors, and other activities to determine recommendations for FMS Customer to integrate new capabilities with the F/A 18.
- Coordinating, supporting, and attending reviews, meetings, conferences, briefings and other significant support activities and events occurring in CONUS or other country locations, as required, to perform analysis in support of the USN FMS IPT.
- Analyzing USN FMS IPT pre-case requirements for prospective programs. Recommending life cycle planning alternatives and courses of action that satisfy defined program objectives.
- Plan, coordinate and execute Logistic Conferences.
- Coordinate, track and provide transportation oversight for vital parts, equipment, and software to support FMS F/A 18 program.
- Develops, modifies, prepares, or validates documentation in relation to automated logistics or maintenance data reporting systems and management information systems
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS or BA degree
- Must posses and maintain a Secret Clearance
- At least six (6) years of experience in operational logistics support/maintenance engineering or Demonstrated Master Logistician (DML)
- Allowable Substitution: an additional five (5) years of acquisition or operational logistics management experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree
- Three (3) years of recent experience in acquisition logistics/maintenance engineering
- Three (3) years experience in technical analysis of operational ILS requirements
- Three (3) years of specific experience in operational logistics planning
- Experience or education demonstrating ability to perform ILS studies, analysis, and evaluations in support of DoD weapons systems/equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with NAVAIR
- Previous Aircraft Engineering Technician (AT) experience
- Fleet logistics/maintenance experience
- Experience supporting FMS customers
