Ivar's, the premier seafood restaurant company in the Pacific Northwest, is now hiring a full-time sous chef with high-volume experience to join the kitchen at our full-service Acres of Clams location on Pier 54 in downtown Seattle. The hourly wage for this position will be between $30 and $35 plus bonus potential based on the restaurant's performance.
The sous chef hired at Acres of Clams will work with their Executive Chef, Victor Martinez, to handle the following responsibilities:
- Supervising food production for the restaurant, including prep, cooking, and presentation
- Maintaining the highest professional safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Supervising and training the heart of the house staff
- Monitoring the kitchen's budget
Preferred candidates for this position will have a culinary degree and:
- 3 years of experience working as a sous chef in a high-volume location (seafood restaurant a plus), including experience hiring, managing, and developing kitchen staff
- Ability to write, implement, and follow standardized recipes
- Strong track record in controlling food and labor costs and achieving financial objectives
