Embryologist

Job Functions:

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications and relevant text books.
• Reads scientific articles and participates in the journal club and continued education discussions as assigned by the laboratory director.
• Participates in national and international meetings related to the field of fertility, IVF and assisted reproduction to keep abreast of new technologies and research.
• Represent IVFFL by publishing research papers and abstracts, and presenting seminars and life lectures at national/international meetings.
• Contribute to shaping the policy making decisions in our field by joining special interest group committees to mold and influence the future of our industry and enhance the image and reputation of IVFFL. 
• Works cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team to provide good patient care, while meeting the objectives and goals of the practice.
• Assists the financial/billing department in assuring appropriate and timely billing for testing services.
• Attends practice and department meetings as requested.
• Undertakes/performs a fair distribution/share of embryology procedures and is proactive of helping
• Performs andrology duties as assigned by the supervisor or director as needed.
• Communicate areas for continual quality improvement.
• Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments to disseminate information and
• Works weekends and holidays as scheduled, inclusive of on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or the biological sciences from an accredited university.
• Must supply copies of degrees, transcripts, and references for personnel files.
• Adequate computer skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge in the following: ARTworks,
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint. Understanding of the Internet is necessary.
• At least six months training/experience in an andrology laboratory with full knowledge and competency in  andrology procedures.
• At least one years’ experience as Embryology Laboratory Technician, one years’ experience as Level 1 Embryologist and one years’ experience as Level 2 Embryologist at IVFFL with complete proficiency in previous position’s embryology procedures including ICSI and assisted hatching techniques
