Ivy Tech – Bloomington is seeking a Director of Development to lead campus-based fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role manages donor relations, giving programs, and community partnerships while supporting strategic campaigns and events. The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-driven, and passionate about advancing student success through philanthropy. Annual Salary: $60,000 Benefits: No waiting period We offer excellent benefit options (medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, spouse/child life insurance, LTD, STD, Identity Guard, etc.). Employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (with the election of a consumer driven health plan). Employer contribution of 10% towards a retirement plan. (Employee contribution not required). Sick Time: 3.7 hours each pay (paid every two weeks). Vacation Time: 5.34 each pay for first 2 years, then increases to 6.15 after 2 years. 9 Paid holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. Winter recess: The College also observes an official closing of 4 standard work week days between the observed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays. This is known as Winter Recess. Free tuition towards Ivy Tech classes for employee and qualifying dependents. Professional Development opportunities. GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: The Director of Development is a key member of the Ivy Tech Foundation team at Ivy Tech Community College and serves as the primary coordinator of campus-based development activities and external Foundation interactions. This role curates positive and impactful experiences for donors, nonprofit and community partners, affiliate organizations, volunteers, alumni, and other stakeholders. The position supports strategic fundraising initiatives, giving programs, events, and operational needs to further the mission of Ivy Tech. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Donor Engagement and Fundraising Provide exceptional donor services, including personalized communications, record maintenance, and donor profile management. Build and maintain a portfolio of small and mid-level donors, managing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. Serve as the Foundation liaison and administrative lead for philanthropic Giving Circles. Assist the Executive Director of Development in the creation and execution of annual fundraising plans. Research donor and prospect data to support fundraising strategies. Ensure timely and proper stewardship of gifts, including receipt, acknowledgment, and financial tracking. Support donor relations through the planning and execution of cultivation events, donor recognition opportunities, and giving campaigns. Collaborate on strategic donor communication and outreach, including crowdfunding, digital platforms, and social media. Event Management Assist in planning and executing development engagement events including site visits, volunteer meetings, and community recognition events. Coordinate event logistics: venue selection, catering, AV/tech, invitations, name tags, day-of execution, and post-event follow-up. Manage resources and collaborations across College departments to ensure successful event implementation. Foundation and Office Operations Maintain Foundation operational policies, procedures, and financial records. Process gifts, pledges, payroll deductions, and gifts-in-kind; handle purchase requisitions and accounts payable records. Enter data and maintain donor and event databases (CRM), ensuring data integrity and timely updates. Ensure a productive office atmosphere, managing technology systems, supplies, and high-level administrative needs. Assist in tracking college and Foundation event budgets and support reconciliations as needed. Administer student emergency assistance and related donor-funded initiatives. Serve as development liaison with the Office of Financial Aid for scholarship administration. Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience). One to three years of nonprofit experience, preferably in development, fundraising, or advancement. Experience in fund development, database management, and donor communications. Strong writing and editing skills for proposals, donor materials, and reports. Knowledge of accounting principles and ability to track budgets and financials is a plus. Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platforms preferred. Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
