Maintenance Supervisor

Country Home Bakers, a division of J&J Snack Foods has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor/Refrigeration Lead in their Atlanta, GA facility. This position will assist the Maintenance Manager in the supervision of maintenance mechanics. He or she also supervises the safe repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to ensure maximum plant profitability and compliance with pertinent company policies, laws, & regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Supervises Maintenance Mechanics and ensures that department personnel follow all safety procedures and finish assignments in timely manner.
• Monitor plant performance and communicate with other departments to anticipate and take proactive measures to avoid issues.
• Supervises repair and maintenance and small capital improvement projects; coordinate staff efforts; interface with management and other departments.
• Ensure timely and effective reaction and follow-up to equipment failures and performance issues.
• Performs semi-advanced electrical/mechanical work on vertical form fill machines, ovens, wrappers, bakery equipment, etc.
• Troubleshoots down equipment.
• Assists with equipment installations within the facility.
• Ensure adequate staffing and skills level to meet objectives – interview and hire employees; review and appraise work performance; train and develop new and existing employees; handle disciplinary matters in accordance with company policy.
• Promote teamwork, communication, positive interpersonal relationships. Identify & resolve personnel conflicts in a proactive manner.
• Schedule and supervise department personnel and ensure all shop & safety procedures are followed. Ensure Maintenance Mechanics use PPE’s and follow all safety rules.
• Follows J&J Snack Food’s Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
• Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• HS Diploma or GED and prefer 2 years of college/trade tech or related educational equivalent.
• Requires minimum 5 years’ related experience in maintenance, preferably in the Food Industry.
• Minimum 1 year in maintenance supervision or management experience.
• Engine room and ammonia experience is required.
• Must be able to work 2nd shift (3p-1a)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English commensurate with the requirements of this position.
• Prefer bilingual skills: English & Spanish.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must be able to work with limited supervision. Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to troubleshoot.
• Must be able to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• PLC and servo controller skills desired.
• Must have own tools.
• Must be available to work any shift including weekends.
• Must be able to report to work to handle emergency repair work.
