Position Summary
The Team Lead is a working leadership role responsible for overseeing morning cleaning operations at 2 retail stores. This position is critical to service continuity, quality control, and compliance—particularly through covering last-minute call-ins, conducting inspections, and training new hires when needed to ensure operational stability. This is a hands-on position that requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple locations within a single shift when necessary.
Schedule Sun-Wed 8:30am-10:30am
Primary Responsibilities
Shift Coverage & Operations
- Serve as the primary backup for last-minute call-ins (key responsibility)
- When call-ins occur, may be required to clean both stores in one day, in addition to assigned duties
- Ensure all required tasks are completed before clocking-out
Leadership & Oversight
- Act as onsite lead in the absence of a Site Manager
- Communicate issues, incidents, staffing gaps, or deficiencies promptly to management
Inspections & Quality Control
- Conduct weekly CleanCore inspections using company checklists
- Perform monthly corporate inspections as assigned
- Complete Ross periodics
- Document findings, submit reports, and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Transfer inventory between stores when needed
Training & Onboarding
Train new hires when needed, including:
- Task execution and workflow expectations
- Ross Store standards and compliance requirements
- CleanCore procedures, checklists, and close-out processes
- Support retraining efforts when quality issues or inspection failures occur
- Reinforce consistency and accountability during the training period
Transportation & Mileage
- Travel between assigned retail locations when needed
- Mileage reimbursed at $0.70 per mile in accordance with company policy
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or commercial cleaning experience required
- Retail cleaning experience preferred
- Demonstrated reliability and leadership capability
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes on short notice
- Strong time management and communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
