What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Jaax Veterinary Hospital?
Seeking a driven and skilled person who can provide excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
Duties of the job include Managing lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes and emails, and maintaining records.
This position requires a practical knowledge of hospital organization, animal patient treatment, data transcribing, word processing, collection of payments and a practical knowledge of the standard procedures, veterinary records and terminology used in the hospital.
Maintain a clean and orderly reception area, and waiting room.
Collect lab specimens from pet owners, match patient records to the sample and submit samples to veterinary technician or nurse.
High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
Excellent customer service skills, providing courteous and prompt assistance
Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods
Salary is commensurate with experience. Compassion is a must.
No weekends or emergency duties with hours from 11-7 Monday, 8-4 Tues-Thurs

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
