Daycare Assistant

Job Description:

Jabbers Indoor Play Place & Daycare is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Daycare Assistant to join our team! The Daycare Assistant will support the Daycare Lead in providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children, helping with daily activities, supervising playtime, and assisting with day-to-day operations.

Position is part-time: Starts as early as 6:30am or closes as late as 7:30.

Must be 18 to apply. Required 6 months of daycare experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with supervising and engaging children during play and learning activities
• Help plan and set up daily activities, crafts, and games to support children’s growth and development
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment by assisting with daily cleaning and organizing tasks
• Support children with their basic needs, such as snacks, rest time, and transitions between activities
• Communicate positively and effectively with children, parents, and team members
• Assist in following daycare policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Help with check-in and check-out procedures to ensure children’s safety and smooth transitions

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children in a daycare, school, or similar setting is mandatory
• At least 18 years old
• Enthusiasm for working with young children and supporting their learning and development
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Background, CPR and First Aid certification
• Ability to maintain a positive, safe, and structured environment
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
