Senior Software Engineer (US Remote)

What you’re about.

You are passionate about building great application software, and you believe applications should be intuitive and easy to use. You aren’t afraid to speak out to make things better. You believe in the value of team collaboration and prioritize sharing knowledge. In addition, you have:

• 7 years experience developing web applications.
  • You have worked on varying-sized projects and sites. 
  • You feel comfortable and confident to dive into new code bases 
  • You feel comfortable leading and mentoring junior developers
  • You feel comfortable speaking up and helping drive the direction of an engineering team
  • A plus - you have experience migrating and updating architectures to new patterns and methods.
• 5 years experience with .NET or ASP.NET Core, HTML and CSS
  • You have a solid understanding of current HTML and CSS
  • You are very comfortable and knowledgeable with ASP.NET MVC
  • You are very comfortable and knowledgeable with C# .NET, the MVC pattern, and Web APIs
  • A plus - experience with React, Typescript, and jQuery
  • A plus - direct experience working with SQL server queries and stored procedures. 
  • A plus - direct experience working with .NET Core Web API (ApiController)
  • A plus - familiar with Tailwind CSS
• Experience working in Agile Scrum sprints using a tool such as Jira.
• Experience with a source control tool such as Git.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, clients, and partners.
• 4-year STEM degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written). 
• Ability to multitask, balance multiple priorities, and perform well under pressure.

What you'll do.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Jackrabbit Technologies, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our SaaS application suite. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure the quality, usability, and scalability of our software products. You will also lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development and maintenance of our codebase. Applying your understanding of architecture, design patterns, and OOD knowledge, your code will strike the right balance between performance, usability, maintainability, and security. 

 In addition, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Ensure that software solutions are properly tested by writing unit and integration tests
• Maintain and support existing software and systems
• Lead projects and collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development and maintenance of our codebase
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues as they arise
• Ensure the quality, usability, and scalability of our software products
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and stakeholders
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
