What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Manager position at Jackson Hole Childrens Museum?
The Guest Services Manager is the first and last point of contact for families, educators, and community members visiting the new Jackson Hole Children’s Museum. This role is central to delivering an extraordinary, welcoming, inclusive, and joyful visitor experience. Front Desk staff set the tone for the entire visit - ensuring guests feel seen, supported, informed, and excited to explore a dynamic, place-based learning environment designed for children and families. This team member will support the delivery of special programming when preschools and private groups visit the Museum and is expected to represent the Museum in a professional and friendly manner. Must have weekend availability and Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Visitor Welcome & Engagement
- Greet all visitors warmly and professionally, creating an inviting, child- and family-friendly atmosphere
- Provide clear information about exhibits, programs, schedules, accessibility features, and museum policies
- Respond to visitor questions with empathy, curiosity, and enthusiasm
- Support families with children of varying ages, abilities, and needs
Admissions, Ticketing & Membership
- Process transactions (admissions, memberships, program registrations and retail) accurately and responsibly on POS systems
- Explain ticketing and membership benefits and promotions in an engaging, non-pressured way
Visitor Support & Problem Solving
- Perform the role of “play engineer” to engage with visitors when appropriate..
- Address visitor concerns, complaints, or special requests calmly and professionally
- Escalate issues when appropriate while maintaining a positive guest experience
- Support crowd flow and manage entry during peak periods
Museum Operations Team
- Support overall Museum operations as available and needed
- Monitor front-of-house areas to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Follow all child protection, health, and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with team and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented workplace culture
- Perform minor exhibit repairs under supervision or direct guidance.
- Support risk assessments and incident reporting as needed
- Under guidance from the Manager of Museum Ops, plans, develops, and delivers private events and celebrations.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
