JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Repair Manager Reports to: General Manager
Date: 09-20-24 Department: 2830 Hoback Repair
Classification: Year-Round Full Time FLSA: Exempt
General Purpose:
To manage the repair staff in all repair shop operations to provide exceptional tunes, repairs, and service on all guest and rental skis, snowboards, bikes, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent guest/customer service.
- Hire, train, schedule, manage, and motivate the repair shop staff.
- Oversee and maintain departmental budgetary goals, including capital improvements as needed.
- Complete repair staff payroll & commissions.
- Create and manage productivity procedures to enhance repair efficiency.
- Warehouse organization of customers bicycles and skis.
- Conduct departmental physical inventory during storewide inventory.
- Maintain departmental purchasing of parts & supply orders pre-season and weekly.
- Manage daily staffing levels to accomplish ski, snowboard, and bike tuning efficiencies and quick turnaround on work.
- Maintain shop presentation to meet all retail visual standards.
- Oversee seasonal rental/demo ski binding mount process.
- Quality control of guest/rental repair services.
- Work with General Manager to maintain competitive and profitable tuning and repair pricing.
- Coordinate cross-staffing/training with the rental department.
- Maintain a tuning equipment maintenance schedule.
- Schedule and manage bike builds.
- Manage the beginning of season set-up and end of season break-down.
- Maintain service standards within staff through continued education and industry specialty training.
Other Functions:
- Work with the Marketing Assistant and the General Manager promoting the Hoback Sports tune shop.
- Schedule required staffing for Hoback Sports sponsored events.
- Work with the Marketing Assistant to expand, coordinate, and schedule seasonal public clinics/tech seminars.
- Work with Warranty Manager in completing all tech warranty returns.

Job Qualifications:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Strong people management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Extensive technical knowledge of bicycle, e-bicycle, ski, and snowboard repair operations
- Extensive knowledge of the RTP point of sale system.
- General knowledge of bike, ski, and snowboard rental operations
- Proficient computer skills required to complete E-Bike diagnosis and repair, as well as Microsoft Suite proficiency
- Basic knowledge of the bike/ski/snowboard industry and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Supervisory Duties:
- Number of direct reports: 10
Working environment:
This job operates primarily in a retail repair shop setting. This role routinely uses tools and repair machines and equipment as well as a computer and phone. Most work is completed in an indoor environment. Occasional work in an outdoor environment, which may cause exposure to extreme temperatures and varying weather.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Grasping, Fingering, Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time performing repetitive motions with hands to grasp, reach, push, and pull with extensive use of fingers to complete detailed

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years as bicycle/e-bike mechanic
- Minimum 2 years as ski/snowboard mechanic
- Minimum 2 years college degree or equivalent job-specific training.
