What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Technician 6:30a-5:00p w/ call rotation position at Jackson Hospital and Clinic?
FT 6:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, 4 days/week and call rotation.
The Endoscopy Technician (ET) functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and performs delegated functions such as planning, preparing and setting up for endoscopy cases. The ET performs in an assistive role during endoscopy procedures and is expected to anticipate the needs of the physician within the scope of their practice. Assists on assigned procedures; performs post procedure tasks and timely case breakdown, appropriate scope and equipment management and room/department cleanup efficiently. Decontaminates and processes endoscopy equipment and adheres to standards and policies around decontaminating and tracking endoscopes used in procedures.
Qualifications:
Training as an Endoscopy Tech or Surgical tech is preferred. Previous work experience in job related position such as medical assisting, nursing assistant, and previous endoscopy experience preferred. Nurse Aide certification or certification from acceptable hospital program. High School diploma or equivalent and BLS required.
