About the Job-

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to add to our Houston team! The Assistant Project Manager helps oversee and direct all phases of a construction project. This position will help design and implement project plans; communicate concerns regarding project cost, staffing, and scheduling directly with contractors/designers; prepare project status reports and work to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications. We would prefer for this candidate to have experience in K-12 renovations, and in Hard Bid proposal methods.

What You Will Do-

  • Help manage, plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting proposal estimates, budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, environmental regulations, or other regulations.
  • On-site job walks.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction/maintenance of structures, facilities, and/or systems.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.
  • Helps prepare contracts and negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs and environmental protection programs.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including the administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Perform, or contract others to perform, pre-building assessments, such as conceptual cost estimating, rough order or magnitude estimating, feasibility, or energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability assessments.
  • Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
  • Help supervise construction related workers.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
  • Other duties as necessary.

What You Bring To The Table-

  • High School diploma or general education degree required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or equivalent field preferred.
  • Experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience in CSP or JOC Projects.
  • Experience in K-12 Construction.
  • Experience in project management required.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Proficient computer skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
