Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Activities Director to join our team and lead our residents in engaging activities and social events. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning and implementing activities that cater to the needs of our residents, particularly those living with memory care and aging issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, assisted living, and caregiving, and a passion for creating meaningful experiences for seniors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an activity calendar that is both fun and meaningful for our residents.
- Plan and coordinate events, such as birthday parties, holiday celebrations, and theme days.
- Collaborate with other departments, including dining and recreation, to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for residents.
- Provide support and counseling to residents, focusing on aging issues and memory care.
- Assist with daily living skills, such as ADLs, and provide guidance and resources to residents and their families.
- Communicate with residents, families, and staff to ensure that everyone is informed and involved in activities and events.
- Manage the daily schedule of activities, ensuring that there is always something engaging and enjoyable for residents to participate in.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, vendors, and suppliers to provide opportunities for residents to engage with the broader community.
Skills:
- Proven experience in event planning and social work, particularly in senior care and assisted living.
- Strong understanding of aging issues and memory care.
- Experience with daily living skills and caregiving.
- Excellent communication and scheduling management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient approach to supporting seniors.
- Familiarity with social work practices and aging issues counseling.
