What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis position at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC?

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial performance, as well as, delivering key insights on business operations to executive leadership. Their focus will also include establishing new processes and controls, translating strategic concepts into detailed analysis that will guide the financial planning and reporting of a fast-growing company. What you are good at: Effective Decision Making: Ability to identify gaps and opportunities to make timely decisions and to take action reflective of business objectives.  Building Relationships: Connecting with others in a way that fosters trust and creates collaborative relationships.   Initiative: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance Janney’s FP&A function. Responsibilities: Develop and own key business processes to support budgeting and forecasting Develop and own corporate financial models, including incorporating scenario analysis, and identify strategic areas to review and discuss with management Develop a comprehensive FP&A reporting package to be delivered to executive leadership on a recurring monthly and quarterly basis Perform flash financial reporting upon request or at defined intervals Work closely with functional business leadership and finance business unit partners to understand nuances and develop business unit level forecasts and budgets Partner with accounting to analyze and interpret actual financial performance vs. operating plan and provide recommendations back to the business Support the evaluation of M&A deals and growth initiatives through financial and operational diligence Prepare and deliver financial business reviews to the leadership team and external stakeholders (Board, Investors, etc.) Ad-hoc analysis and reporting for executive team What you have: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field 10 -12 years of work experience in FP&A or a similar function Experience in budgeting, planning, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting Working ERP knowledge and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint) Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail Outstanding written and oral communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to work closely with broader corporate finance functions Exceptional business acumen Industry experience with construction, utilities, or energy businesses preferred but not required Cloud ERP experience (NetSuite, Oracle, etc.) is desirable but not required Business intelligence software experience (i.e., Tableau, Power BI) Experience in Wealth Management is highly desirable Why work for us?
