Establish and maintain par levels, perform physical inventory on a daily basis to maintain needs for patient care, negotiate vendor contracts and consignment agreements, provide invoices to payers in a timely manner for claims and billing, interact with new physicians as part of the leadership team to establish needs for new procedures or service lines, establish rapport with the team to engage proactively for materials needs. Scrub cases, as needed and if possible

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Oversee supply chain activities related to ordering, receiving, stocking supplies; establish and maintain appropriate par levels according to scheduled and anticipated case volume; order specialty items per surgeon request.
- Interface with physicians, their clinical support staff and administrative teams to list, order, receive all supplies, equipment and surgical instruments for new procedures.
- Coordinate introduction of new products and conversions, monitor trial activities, collect clinical staff and physician feedback; identify opportunities for cost reduction through standardization of products.
- Identify which stock inventory items could be managed through consignment agreements versus direct purchase, perform preliminary cost analysis for discussion with administration.
- Engage vendors in preliminary discussions for contract pricing for consignment agreements, new supply and/or implant pricing, rebate program including spend monitoring and optimization.
- Work with AP to ensure purchase orders, invoices, and payments are accurate, processed according to policy and procedures and in a timely manner.
- Receive equipment (loaner, new, lease, trial), secure appropriate biomedical and electrical safety check prior to patient use, communicate ready statue to clinical staff. Work with Sterile Processing Department staff, if sterilization is required to establish IFU prior to patient use. Coordinate special equipment requests and vendor inservices per surgeon and staff request.
- Establish adequate delivery service schedules, par levels and contract review schedules for services such as linen, medical gas, waste management, janitorial, etc.
- Perform physical inventory counts as directed.
- Maintain standard inventory management practices: FIFO, expiration date monitoring, compromised sterile packaging, 18” clearance from ceiling
- Communicate with clinical staff regarding shortages, back-orders, recalls and any supply issues affecting clinical care.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of operating room experience required. ASC experience preferred. Surgical Tech background preferred.
- At least one year of purchasing experience in a related healthcare setting required.
- Computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and internet required.
- Healthcare Systems knowledge preferred: SIS, HST, SMART system, EPIC, Lawson, ENVI, IPG, CensiTrac.
