General Description:
- To ensure HACCP plan for plant facility according to government established guidelines meets requirements.
- Perform or help with laboratory testing as needed.
- Ensure compliance of all HACCP guidelines and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) throughout plant facility.
- Enter and track Food Safety work orders to ensure work is acceptable when completed.
- 90% of the time will be spent monitoring plant facility and equipment routinely each day to evaluate potential and existing problems.
- Perform SSOP and SPS tasks
- Use Safety Chain and Qliksense programs to perform audits and analyze trends.
- Be able to use tablet of phone to log audits.
- Collect and analyze data from CCP (critical control point) sheets; report information daily.
- Analyze problems; assist HACCP Coordinator in developing solutions; test possible solutions for implementation.
- Ensure that management is in compliance with government and corporate guidelines.
- Attend scheduled meetings when directed.
- Attend Records review when required by USDA for compliance purposes.
- Perform various other duties as needed or assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Work 40 hours per week in all areas of plant facilities.
- Exposed to all plant environments (slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, noise, etc.).
Relationships; Internal
Regular communication with all levels of employees and management concerning food safety and HACCP program.
Education Requirements (if applicable) preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent & HACCP Certification School
Experience: Previous experience with food safety (especially meat industry & laboratory testing).
Special Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
