FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
LOCATION: JC Early Childhood Education Center
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10.5-month employment with benefits as specified in the Classified Agreement.

We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team and help keep our center running smoothly.
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for families, staff, and community members. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage confidential information, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and support the day-to-day operations of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet families, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist with inquiries
- Manage student records, enrollment paperwork, and attendance reporting
- Support staff with scheduling, communication, and basic clerical tasks
- Maintain calendars, appointments, and assist in coordinating meetings
- Monitor and order office and classroom supplies
- Assist in planning and executing school events and family engagement activities
- Uphold confidentiality and support a safe, welcoming environment for children and families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Previous administrative or office experience
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
- A genuine love for children and belief in the mission of early childhood education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with school databases and student information systems
- Familiarity with state licensing and enrollment documentation
