What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselors position at JCC of Mid-Westchester?
Summer Days at the J is a traditional day camp located in Southern Westchester County, at the JCC Mid-Westchester. We are seeking motivated, dedicated and trustworthy Counselors to help guide our campers (ages 2-7) throughout the summer. Gain valuable work experience that can help in any career path and make great friends.
Must make a full summer commitment (June 24-August 9).
Counselors must be at least 16 years of age and have previous Summer camp/teaching/babysitting experience. Counselors typically work as a team with two other counselors and one group of children, and are responsible for the health and welfare of their campers each day. Counselors are with their group throughout the day at all of their activities, assisting the specialists and supporting and encouraging their campers.
- Identify and meet camper’s needs
- Supervise campers throughout all camp programs
- Set positive examples for campers and be a positive role model
- Communicate proactively, regularly and openly with supervisors, fellow staff and parents.
- Follow all camp rules and regulations
Hours per week: 30-39
