About the Role
JCL Energy is an electrical transformer company seeking a Transformer Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role focuses on the mechanical and electrical assembly of industrial transformers, ensuring all components are installed correctly, connections are secure, and products meet quality and performance standards prior to testing and shipment.
This is a hands-on position for candidates who enjoy working with technical equipment, blueprints, and precision tools in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of transformer components (cores, coils, enclosures, bushings, tap changers, internal wiring, and accessories)
- Make and verify electrical connections and terminations according to drawings and specifications
- Read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions
- Support preparation of transformers for testing and performance evaluation
- Conduct routine inspections during assembly to identify defects or installation issues
- Use hand and power tools to fasten, wire, torque, and secure components
- Document completed work and assembly steps
- Maintain tools and equipment used during assembly activities
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with testing, quality, and production teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial assembly preferred
- Ability to read basic blueprints and electrical schematics
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Experience
- Transformer or power distribution equipment manufacturing
- Electrical wiring and termination experience
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- Forklift or overhead crane experience (or willingness to train)
