Position Title: Loss Prevention Representative Department: Loss Prevention / DC Reports to: LP Manager Does this position supervise/manage others? Yes No Location: Asheville, NC Employment Status: Full-Time Part-Time Exempt Non-Exempt General Summary The primary responsibility of a Loss Prevention Representative is to maintain a safe and secure working environment for associates and assist in the detection and prevention of loss. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Enforce safety and security policies and procedures Assist in first aid emergencies and respond to fire alarms Check and verify associates’ badges and inspect items exiting facility Issue temporary, visitor and contracted service badges and follow up on their return. Arm and disarm system and respond to burglar alarms Issue parking permits and rectify parking violations Maintain inbound/outbound trailer logs Enforce pin-lock and seal control of trailers Conduct inbound / outbound / Factory audits in efforts to identify potential risk exposures Conduct daily facility walk-thru to detect and prevent losses and identify safety hazards Gather and transport proprietary information for destruction Distribute access keys and maintain key log Maintain Lost and Found Maintain CCTV Surveillance for interior/exterior of facility Transport associates for bank deposits, medical assistance and offsite drug test Observe all associates, vendors, visitors after hours to their vehicles Assist in monitoring of powered industrial equipment operators Assist LP Supervisor/Manager in special projects as requested Prepare and submit Daily Activity Log, Incident and Accident reports to supervisor Communicate with management on issues that need immediate resolution Communicate on daily basis all findings during auction research Maintain accurate records and entries into Monthly Report Maintain monthly support function reporting Maintain a professional demeanor when communicating with associates and visitors Understand team objectives within assigned work area Adhere to specific dress code / uniform Apply basic skills and procedural knowledge within assigned work area Report to work as scheduled, using time clock system Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager Must be flexible with duties to assist other LP representatives during busy periods Education & Experience High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred Previous Loss Prevention or security experience helpful No prior felony or serious misdemeanor convictions Must have a valid drivers license Basic keyboarding skills; computer literate (proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word) Skills & Abilities Good problem solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong communication skills – verbal and written; ability to effectively communicate with all levels of individuals (hourly associates to senior leadership) Excellent interpersonal skills; people-oriented individual Ability to work in a team environment (team player) Quality conscious and detail oriented Ability to multi-task Neat, orderly appearance Must be very flexible/adaptable - will be required to assist other LP representatives in other areas and work overtime and extended hours, as needed Understand and follow verbal and written instructions Physical Requirements Stand, walk and move for the majority of work shift This position will also require you to lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend and stoop; ability to climb stairs Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehouse (outside work will be required at times so must have ability to adjust to outside climates) Ability to type and read computer screen Working Conditions Distribution Center / Warehouse with some office and outside environment This Position Description covers only the Essential Functions for this position.
