POSITION SUMMARY
This per diem role requires onsite audits at Ambulatory Surgical Centers monthly in the Park City Utah area. Candidates must have hospital experience and familiarity with JACHO and/or Triple AAA accreditation bodies. Strong preference for customer facing experience with clinical decision makers (e.g. directors of nursing, medical directors, administrators). Superior communication skills required. The Consultant Pharmacist is responsible for providing guidance in the areas of pharmacy and medication management to surgical facility staff. The pharmacist will audit the surgical facilities per their contracted frequency, (biannually, quarterly, monthly, or weekly). The pharmacist acts as an agent of JDJ Consulting, LLC, the President of which serves as the surgical facility’s Director of Pharmacy. The consultant pharmacist is expected to coordinate with the Director of Operations and President to develop and supervise pharmaceutical protocols at the surgical facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs on site pharmacy audits at surgical facilities using JDJ Consulting’s Pharmacy Report audit tool
· Ensures regulatory compliance in pharmacy, according to state department of health standards, accrediting body standards, Drug Enforcement Agency regulations, USP <797>, USP <800>, and if applicable, state board of pharmacy standards
· Makes recommendations to client based on best practice, regulation, and cite-able data sources
· Provides real-time education of surgical facility staff, if possible or appropriate, that contribute to the pharmacy operations of the center
· If possible, provides in-servicing in relevant areas: Malignant Hyperthermia response, Safe Injection Practices, Multi-/ Single-dose vial compliance, Drug Diversion Prevention, or drug specific in-servicing
· Offers information to surgical center staff to help improve medication purchasing habits or provide cost containment
· Maintains professional relationship with client site staff
· Performs additional tasks and assignments within the standard scope of pharmacy practice
Salary : $70 - $85
