Job Summary
We are looking for motivated and friendly Banquet Captain to join our team. We are seeking a meticulous banquet captain to supervise and manage all banquet events for our Club. As the banquet captain, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring that banquet operations run smoothly, and prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests.
To be a successful Banquet Captain, you should have strong leadership skills and be able to manage multiple streams of information. Ultimately, a banquet captain should remain calm in highly stressful situations and demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee’s position.

Participate in and lead department meetings.

Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment.

Assist with banquet staff weekly schedule.
-
Delegate duties to servers and oversee activity throughout events.

Supervise setup and service of food and beverages.
-
Confirm setup of event spaces according to customer specifications prior to event including moving. furniture and general clean-up if necessary;

Communicate customer needs to kitchen staff.

Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance.

Train and develop catering servers using existing training materials.
-
Meet and greet clients contacts.
-
Venue layout, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacities, hours of operation, price ranges, and dress code.

Communicating to staff in pre-function meetings all specific set-up needs of buffets, receptions, and overview of daily events.

Bill the guest main contact following banquet event order requirements.

Team Member handbook: enforce and adhere to The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club policies.

Maintain complete knowledge of: All menu selections available in banquet and restaurant.

Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.

Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications

High School diploma or successful completion of GED;
-
Must have a valid Manager-level Food Handler’s Card and Liquor License.

Minimum two years catering operations or banquet experience, or relevant experience, preferably in a lead of supervisor capacity.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Ability to lift.
-
Assisting managers and organizers with planning the layout and logistics of events.
-
Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
-
Openness and an ability to learn or prior knowledge of A/V is necessary.

Basic proficient with Microsoft Word and email systems preferred.

Ability to deal with difficult customers and effectively resolved their concerns.

Ability to perform all operational positions within Catering/Operations.

Strong communication skills to provide information and associated services to Club management and guests.

Proven team player.

Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends;

Auditory abilities required by this job include the ability to accurately hear information conveyed to guests and members and the ability to work effectively in areas with ambient noise. The work environment is subject to interruptions, varying and unpredictable situations and time pressures related to multiple tasks. It also requires regular use of a point-of-sale terminal. There is extensive repetitive motion in using hands/wrists.
Work Environment
This position primarily works both indoors and outdoors. At times, extreme temperatures may be part of the environment.
Work requires exposure to temperatures sufficiently high to cause bodily discomfort. The noise level is usually moderate.
Schedules vary and may include weekends, holidays, etc. as determined by business needs.
OSHA Category
Category I: Position engages in activities that with a high risk of coming into direct contact with blood and body fluids for which specific precautions must be taken. This position has been identified as Category I as it is most likely to attend to kitchen burns, accidents, or injuries.

Pay: $15.35 per hour and part of the gratuity pool.
