The mission of McLain Community High School is to provide an alternate path to a life of learning, opportunity and choice. McLain is more than just one school. McLain?s unique design provides a variety of school programs housed at one location. McLain?s programs have been tailored to meet the needs of the diverse students and families that we support. Students earn their high school diploma by completing the graduation requirements as outlined by Jeffco Public Schools. Our programs prepare students to be college and work-ready upon graduation. Students are provided opportunities that encourage self-confidence and success. Our personalized communication with parents and guardians also supports our students in their education. This position can be full time or part time. A full-time candidate will be teaching Art and PE. They will need to be licensed in both areas, or be willing to get licensed in both areas.

We are also open to hiring a part time Art Teacher and a part time PE Teacher.

Required:

• Current endorsement on a valid Colorado License in the area of job title.

• Demonstrated skills and abilities to ensure the success of all students.

• Demonstrated skill in designing and implementing appropriate instruction for students in the content areas required.

• Excellent communication skills in order to facilitate communication with all members of the community, special ed. team members, classroom teachers, students, parents and administrators.

• Demonstrated ability in providing differentiation, interventions and extensions for students.

• Effective collaboration with teammates.

• Demonstrated commitment to team work and systemic programs.

• Demonstrated ability to manage an effective classroom that results in student achievement.

• Demonstrated knowledge of standards-based lesson plans.

• Demonstrated ability to embed technology in curriculum content areas.
