About Us: Jefferson Comprehensive Care System, Inc. (JCCSI) was incorporated in 1972 as a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the provision of comprehensive health care services. In 1973, the corporation established its first clinic in Pine Bluff, AR. Throughout its existence, JCCSI has increased access to health services in both rural and urban areas by developing additional clinics in Altheimer, College Station, Little Rock and Redfield, AR. We are looking to hire a payroll specialist for our finance department located in Pine Bluff, AR.

Requirements for our payroll specialist include:
- High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Word & Excel and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Great Plains, Time Matrix, etc...) and database.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey the different challenges one may face when processing payroll.
- Must be able to develop and maintain internal relationships, partnership with colleagues.
- Must have knowledge of year-end reporting (W-2, 941, Suta, etc.)
- Ability to research, analyze, and resolve payroll-related problems or questions.
- Ability to interact with a computer screen for up to six hours at a time and must have manual dexterity for use of keyboard.
- Ability to multitask and work overtime/extended hours, if needed.
Responsibilities for our payroll specialist include:
- Perform daily payroll department operations.
- Accurately and timely reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Set up and reconcile voluntary payroll deductions, prepare reports, identify and research exceptions and remit payments to vendors.
- Track hour rates, wages, compensation benefits rates, new hire information, etc.
- Compile financial, tax and payroll reports for the use of internal and external purposes, to be reviewed by supervisor.
- Process manual checks, direct deposit and retro-expenditure transfer for non-grant affiliated accounts.
- Attend meetings to be briefed on current situations and to enlighten coworkers of changes occurring within payroll.
- Sustain and ensure compliance and attention to all policies and procedures, mandatory training, and the overall mission and values of the organization.
- Perform other duties that may be appointed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,700.00 - $46,000.00 per year
