The Jefferson County Clerk’s Office is hiring a Deputy Court Clerk. This is a full-time (35-hours per week) position with benefits. Deputy Court Clerks perform the clerical, secretarial and office support duties necessary to the operation of the court system. Principal duties include:
- Clerical and general office duties;
- Receive payments, follow up on delinquent payments;
- Gather, receive, and review citations, cases, warrants, reports and other legal documents;
- Perform data entry;
- Maintain court case files;
- Respect privacy and confidentiality;
- Processes mail;
- Transcribe documents;
- Answer phone and respond to public inquiries; and
- Other duties pertaining to court business.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, One year of general office experience which includes customer service and data entry. Experience in legal office setting is preferred.
Special Requirements
Must work well in a team environment; must be able to focus on tasks in a busy office setting. Spanish language skills a plus.
